Saint-Gilles-Croix-de-Vie - a maritime city to discover

Located to the north of the campsite, the village of Saint-Gilles-Croix-de-Vie is very popular with tourists looking for a lively family vacation. Between fishing port, marina, water sports activities, sandy beaches, you'll be spoilt for choice. The region's leading sardine port, discover l'Atelier de la Sardine A museum, store and gallery retracing the steps of the cannery and its know-how.
Another flagship activity in Saint-Gilles is the velorail, This is a great way for families and friends to get together. In the midst of nature, take a group out for a walk and discover the rich flora, the old railway station and the «De la Vie» viaduct. A unique and original way to discover the area.

In the heart of the Saint-Gilles-Croix-de-Vie region, the small town of Saint-Hilaire-de-Riez is best known for its salt marshes. From April to September, visit the farm to learn more about salt-making and traditional techniques. You'll also have the chance to take home a little sachet as a souvenir of your vacation in the Vendée.


Saint-Jean-de-Monts - Spa of excellence

Just 1 hour's drive from your campsite, explore a new world combining falconry show or horse riding, waterfalls, gladiatorial combat in a red-hot arena! Le Puy du Fou invites you to breathtaking shows.

Voted best park in the world several times over, it's undoubtedly the Vendée attraction not to be missed. Le Balais des Oiseaux Fantômes, the 18th-century Village, Les Vikings and the Cinescénie, the biggest night show ever, with over 2,500 actors on stage, will take you back in time and put stars in the eyes of young and old alike! We won't tell you any more about it, but the best thing is to come and enjoy this incredible experience with your loved ones!


Noirmoutier - The salt capital

The Vendée is rich in exceptional tourist destinations. Noirmoutier Island is one of them. You can reach it on foot, by bike or by car. Accessible from the mainland via Passage du Gois (4.2 km long) only at low tide, you'll discover a breathtaking panorama, unique landscapes and typical local architecture with white houses and blue shutters.
Occupying more than a third of the island, stop off at the salt marshes. There, you'll learn all about the salt-maker's trade. The salt marshes are open to visitors every summer. You can sample coarse salt or fleur de sel, speciality of Noirmoutier.
Another idea for family activities on the island: Sealand aquarium. Underwater flora and fauna await you for a moment of discovery to share with the whole family. The aquarium is home to 200 species of marine animals from the world's cold and tropical seas. You'll also be able to admire the sea lions' games of skill with their balloons.
